About Me

Hola! Fonda here!

I created this blog to document my journey and experiences in India. This is where I plan to discuss the impacts that my Mexican-American culture and that of India will have on me. My intent is to see how I am able to build peace-making and positive connections across the globe.

I live in Portland, Oregon with my sweetie fiance, Dan, and our silly French bulldog, Zedd. I was born and raised in the beautiful state of California, and moved 7 years ago to escape the central valley heat.

Currently, I attend Portland State University as a full-time graduate student studying Conflict Resolution. My undergrad degree is in Child & Family Studies, which I earned at PSU. To make ends meet, I work part-time as a server in North Portland.

One day, I would like to facilitate workshops on intercultural communication and conflict resolution for our youth who wish to study abroad. I dream of working for an international and relief organization where I can support the goals of the global community. I'd also like to help my future husband open up our own breakfast joint in Oregon... or where ever we may be.

My favorite pastimes are: eating sweets, taking pictures, caring for my plants, road trips, cooking with Dan, and now, teaching Zedd to rollover.
